New Yarns
Fall is Knitting Season, and we’re getting in new yarns and projects every day! To give you an idea of what we’ve got, we’ve created this category to showcase things you might find interesting. Lots of stuff is in, but as to not overwhelm you, we’ll feature something new every few days.

12/07/2009 - “Witch’s Brew” by Knitwitch
The Knitwitch came to visit! She and her husband, the maker of our lovely yarn bowls, came to spend the day with us, telling us fun stories about their life ‘upstate’ and of course bringing us this lovely 100% superwash Blue Faced Leicester Sock Yarn. Named after different signs, planets, and more from astrology, this soft and lovely yarn is a wonderful find…and dyed exclusively for us at Only Ewe! Look! More photos!

11/23/ 2009 - “DANGERKNITS” Trunkshow

These are my best friends this month! We started carrying the line of toy and stuffy patterns by Dangerknits, and surprise, they sent us a trunkshow! For the next week or so we get to squeeze and cuddle with these lovely dogs, bunnies, monsters…and so much more. They are fairly simple in their construction, and can be done with a variety of standard leftovers - the samples we have are in Luna, Galway, Cascade 220, just to name a few. So come look, touch and feel, and maybe pick up a pattern! Surely a young someone in your life needs his or her very own monster.
11/19/2009 - “YARN BOWLS” by Knitwitch

These are fantastic! When i first heard the term ‘yarn bowl’ I couldn’t figure out why that was something I needed, but when I saw these in person i understood. These are beautifully made hand turned ceramic bowls, with a perfect notch to feed your yarn through. Then, the yarn ball can stay perfectly contained in the bowl, feeding out as you need it, and not bouncing all around the room. Its a perfect thing for knitting at home in a room where you frequent, but a room that still needs to be tidy and well decorated - when you aren’t knitting you can simply leave your project in the bowl, and it keeps everything contained and pretty instead of having your yarn and needles just laying out in the way. I can’t decide which one I want!

11/16/2009 - “LUMPY BUMPY” By FARMHOUSE YARNS
This week we’ve put out a LOT of “Lumpy Bumpy” from Farmhouse Yarns. It took a little while to get it, as the dyer had to work hard to get it all dyed for us…but its finally here! We’ve got more colorways than we’ve ever had - some old favorites, some new favorites…all of them great. Its a beautiful hand-dyed wool with a truly unique texture - and we have a lot of samples for you to look over. Here’s some more photos!

We also have other wonderful yarns by Farmhouse - Fatter Sheep, Andy’s Merino, Cotton Blossom, I Am Allergic To Wool, and Winifred’s Washable…so check those out as well when you’re here…you’re bound to love at least a few!

Look at the beautiful yarnbowls! Wayne (the Knitwitch’s hsuband and the artisan who makes the yarnbowls) will be in the shop on Friday, Dec. 4th. He’ll probably sign your bowl if you ask!!!!!!
